I love spring. It’s got warm weather, kids are getting excited for the end of school, and everything is blooming. It’s the perfect time to start something. This journey we are on is a long one, and I have accepted that. There will be set backs. But sometimes you get a day like today that just fills you with optomism. I worked in my little garden plot today. All day. And I got my cucumbers planted, and my corn planted. I’m off by my moon dates, but today is the last frost date for my area and I can’t wait anymore. Here are my little rows of corn:
I also helped my little girls plant some flowers. Those rows are a bit more haphazard so I’ll post again when they grow up some. But my youngest got to plant this little guy at a spring event she happened upon while out with her Nana.We transplanted it today.
I would love to see what you have growing.
I’m not off the grid, but have quite some stuff planted. Strawberries, blueberries, blackberry, onions, carrots, Figs, tomatoes, potatoes. You can see more here: https://dreamgardening.wordpress.com/

We’re not off grid yet. This year’s focus is eat everything I grow and put up as much as I can to have no waste. I want to do strawberries.

Worked pretty easy for me. Bought 4 organic plants last year and by the end of summer they reproduced and now I have 30 or more.
Just need to cover under 20 degrees which is not too often in Texas and keep birds from eating the berries.

I would love to go afford but would need a bigger lot and quit my job.

I think we could do it on our current lot. We are already on well and septic. We use a lot of electricity though. Plus working 45 hours a week pays the debts off.

Our soil is so wet right now that everything is busy growing in the greenhouse. My tomatoes are about a foot high now

I moved my seedlings outside yesterday to acclimate. I’ll get them in the ground this weekend, and then it will be done. At least the first part will be done.
